Calva Dilley, 90, of Des Moines, a former Webster City resident, died Sunday, December 12, 2004 at the Iowa Lutheran Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Foster's Chapel, with Rev. Scott Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and prior to the service on Friday.

Calva Marie Flowers, daughter of Gilbert and Edith Carpenter Flowers, was born November 29, 1914 on a farm southwest of Homer. She attended Washington # 1 rural school near Homer and graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1931. On July 4, 1934 she married Laurence Vern Dilley at Fort Dodge. The couple resided at Webster City. She was a homemaker, but during W.W. II, she had been employed at Selby Produce and Hart-Carter. Mr. Dilley died January 12, 2000. She had resided with her daughter, Jane Hill at Des Moines for the past 5 years.

Mrs. Dilley is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Dale and Carolyn Dilley and Dean Dilley, all of Stanhope; Laurence (Jerry) and Janice Dilley of Ellsworth, daughter, Jane Hill of Des Moines, 13 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren, sisters, Ruth Irving of Blue Earth, Mn., Zelpha Burgin of Webster City, several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by son-in-law, Marion K. Hill in 1998; daughter-in-law, Carol Dilley in 1991; grandson, Bruce Dilley in 2002; grandson-in-law, John Shubin; brother, Harold Flowers; sisters, Mary Olthoff and Pauline Flowers.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a church circle and a Cradle Roll member.
