Margie K. Nickles, 75, passed from this life on Saturday, February 16, 2013, in Des Moines. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, February 20, 2013, at Walnut Hills United Methodist Church, 12321 Hickman Road, Urbandale, Iowa 50323. The family will greet guests one hour prior to the service and at the luncheon following the service.

Margie was born on October 12, 1937 in Brooklyn, Iowa to Theral and Eleanor Crider. She grew up in Webster City, Iowa and graduated from Webster City High in 1955. She married Louis I. Nickles in 1956 and they made their home in Des Moines. Margie retired after more than 25 years of service with Preferred Risk Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Walnut Hills Methodist Church for 29 years. She enjoyed reading, spending time on the computer, playing cards and scrabble. Margie was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.

Margie will be missed by her children, Joel (Rhonda) Nickles of Truth or Consequences, NM, Jeff (Dawn Smith) Nickles of Columbus, OH, and Karen (Chris) Spaulding of Urbandale; six grandchildren, Ashley, Cody and Alyssa Nickles; Heather, Lizzie and Jenny Spaulding; a great granddaughter, Miranda Nickles; sisters, Sheryl (Stan) Parrish of Webster City, Lucille Peterson of OR and Charlene Harrison of MO; brother, Chuck Crider of PA; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Thelma Stevens and Judy Crider and brother, Terry Crider.
