WIDELY KNOWN NURSE IS DEAD

Mrs. Harry E. Forrester, Jr., Had Been Ill Three Months

WAS 28 YEARS OLD

Mrs. Harry E. Forrester, Jr., 28, one of the city's widely known and popular registered nurses, died last evening at her home after an illness of three months.

Death was caused by inflammation of the membrane of the brain. On March 23 she was taken to the Mayo clinic at Rochester, Minn., for treatment. Upon her return she seemed to improve slightly, but about two weeks ago she was again stricken and had been in a critical condition for several days before her death.

Funeral services will be tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Foster funeral home with Dr. Ira J. Houston, Congregational pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.

Mrs. Forrester was the former Miss Dorothy Rutledge. She was born Dec. 17, 1910, in Kamrar, but later the family moved to Webster City and Dorothy was educated in the public schools here.

She was graduated from Lincoln high with the class of 1928. While in high school she was very active in extra-curricular activities and was popular with her classmates. After graduation she entered the Iowa Methodist hospital at Des Moines for a course in nurses training.

She completed this in 1931, and returned to Webster City where she was employed on the staff of the Hamilton county hospital. Later she did private duty and continued her work for a time after her marriage, Feb. 6, 1935, to Harry E. Forrester, jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Forrester, sr.

Mr. and Mrs. Forrester lived in an apartment at 415 1/2 Bank street, over Forrester's "Drive In" shop, operated by her husband.

Mrs. Forrester attended the Congregational church and was a member of the Married Registered Nurses club.

Besides her husband, she leaves her mother, Mrs. Grace Rutledge, her father, Guy Rutledge, a sister, Guyneith, and a brother, John, all of this city, as well as several uncles and aunts and a host of friends.
