Mrs. Theodore Wing, 79, long-time Stanhope resident, died at 1:20 p.m. Wednesday at her home in Stanhope. She had been ill the past month, her death being attributed to a stroke.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Our Savior's Lutheran church in Stanhope, preceded by a brief service at 1:30 p.m. in her home. Foster's funeral home will have charge of the services. The Rev. Walter E. Carlson will officiate with burial in the Zion Cemetery northeast of Stanhope.

Christina Sophie Monson, daughter of Christopher and Johanna Monson, was born July 18, 1874, at Webster City. The family later moved to a farm in the Kamrar community where she grew to young womanhood. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith Nov. 9, 1890.

Sept. 12, 1900, she was united in marriage to Theodore Wing at Kamrar. Mr. and Mrs. Wing farmed in the Stanhope vicinity for many years, retiring in 1931 when they moved into Stanhope, the family home since.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one daughter, who died in infancy, her parents, four brothers and three sisters. She is survived by three daughters and five sons: Mrs. Herchal (Marie) Wilson, Leonard Wing, both of Lynd, Minn.; Mrs. Don (Geneva) Brower and Earnest Wing of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Clarence, Jess, and Clifford Wing and Mrs. Don (Alice) Hadaway of Stanhope. Also surviving are 25 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. C. K. Brandrup and Mrs. Iver Berven of Webster City, and Mrs. Roy Brandrup of Iroquois, S. D.

Mrs. Wing's chief interest in life were her home and her family. She was always faithful in her attendance at church services and was a member of Our Savior's Ladies Aid. Her willingness to be of service to her friends and neighbors will long be remembered.
