DEATH TAKES PIONEER FROM WEBSTER CITY

Funeral Services Monday Afternoon for Mrs. Mary Frank, 87

Mrs. Mary Frank, 87, died at her home, 526 First street, Saturday evening about 6:30 o'clock after a few days' serious illness. She had been in failing health, however, the past six months.

Funeral services were held Monday at 3 p.m. at the McCauley-Chapman funeral home, with Dr. Effie McCollum Jones, assisted by the Rev. H.W. Putney, officiating. Burial was made in Graceland cemetery.

Mary Bossert was born on a farm at Independence Dec. 29, 1854, her parents being Valentine and Julia Bossert. The family moved to this community in 1857, and she spent the rest of her life here.

Aug. 14, 1881, she was united in marriage to Louis Frank, widely known Webster City businessman, who preceded her in death March 16, 1927. He was a pioneer clothing merchant, having been continuously in this business 51 years at his death.

All through these years spent in this community Mr. and Mrs. Frank were keenly interested in civic and social affairs.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank were the parents of three children, Arthur Frank, Mrs. H.G. Higbee and Ralph L. Frank, all of this city.

Mr. and Mrs. Frank had lived at their home at 526 First street all of their married life and their children were born there. Mrs. Frank was the last of her family of nine children. She was a most devoted and kind mother.

In 1890 she was worthy matron of Sharon chapter, Order of the Eastern Star, and was the only charter member of this organization living in Webster City.

Besides her children she leaves three grandchildren: Rosemary Stepp, Ralph Frank, jr., and Mary Jane Higbee.
