JEWELL - Mrs. Ellen Vallem, 82, of Ellsworth, died early Sunday morning at the Story City Memorial hospital where she had been a patient the past 18 months.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth with the Rev. R.D. Ehlers officiating and with burial in Homewood cemetery. The body will lie in state at Becker's Funeral home in Jewell until 2 p.m., before being taken to the church.

Ellen Danielson was born Jan. 27, 1885, in Ellsworth, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Osmund Danielson, and lived her entire life in the Ellsworth community. She was united in marriage Aug. 28, 1929, to Iver Vallem, who preceded her in death April 23, 1958.

Survivors include three stepchildren, Marguerite Vallem of Forest City, the Rev. Ivan Vallem of Camp Douglas, Wis., and Mrs. Harold W. Voogd of Englewood, Calif. Also surviving are one step-granddaughter; a sister, Mrs. Sam Ostebee of Ellsworth, and two brothers, Daniel Danielson of Ellsworth and Louis Danielson of Story City.
