Marjorie Kallem was born February 28, 1918 in Ellsworth to T.M. and Gertie (Cragwick) Kallem. She graduated from Ellsworth High School with the class of 1935. On August 18, 1941 she married C. Lavon Peterson. She died October 8, 2005 at Luther Park in Des Moines, IA and is buried in Greenwood Cemetery in rural Ellsworth.

She is survived by two daughters, Nancy Uttermarkt and Mary Peterson, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on April 15, 2001 and two brothers in infancy.
