Edward Donnelly, 91, of Webster City passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Van Diest Medical Center. Visitation will be held from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Edward Joseph Donnelly, son of Edward and Mae McMannus Donnelly, was born February 9, 1924 in Manson. He graduated from Manson High School in 1941 and entered the U.S. Army in 1943. He served in England and Germany until September of 1946. Upon returning from the service he enrolled at Buena Vista College and later transferred to Drake University. There he earned a Bachelor's degree and was working on his Master's when he decided to start his career. On October 15, 1947 he was united in marriage to Marguerite Larick in Fort Dodge. Ed spent his career with the Department of the Navy and the National Park Services in Washington, D.C. He was an Associate Director for administration with the National Park Services until his retirement in May 1979.

He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marguerite; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Vicki Donnelly of Littleton, CO; grandson, Zackary and Jill Donnelly of Centennial, CO; great-granddaughter, Lila Jayne Donnelly of Centennial, CO; sister, Jeanne Brennan of Alexandria, VA; niece, Kristy and Chris Anderson and family of Woolstock; and many nieces and nephews.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mae; and brother, Jim Donnelly.
