Mrs. Elly G. Gleffe, 78, died Tuesday evening at Crestview Manor where she had resided since 1974.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Foster Funeral home with Rev. Thomas Mickelson officiating and with burial at the Lakewood cemetery in Minneapolis.

Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral home after 5 p.m. today.

Elly G. Carstedt, daughter of Theodore and Augusta Pogge Carstedt, was born April 14, 1905, at Hamburg, Germany. In 1914, she came to the U.S. with her parents and graduated from the Training School for Nurses, St. Peter, Minn.

On Dec. 31, 1928, she married Walter K. Gleffe at Minneapolis, and the couple resided there where she was in the nursing profession for a short time.

From 1946 to 1957, Mr. Gleffe was in partnership with Paul Kramer in the Webster City Tool and Die Co. In 1958, they returned to Minneapolis. She was preceded in death by her husband in June, 1968, and she continued to live in Minneapolis until she returned to Webster City in 1974.

She is survived by one daughter and two sons, Mrs. Donna Lu Fredericksen of Webster City, Walter K. Gleffe, Jr. of Winchester, Ky., and Mark W. Gleffe of Cyprus, Calif.; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Helen Jahncke of Webster City and Mrs. Erna Karnes of Wellman, Iowa.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by both parents.

She was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran church in Minneapolis.
