Funeral services for Roaul (Steve) Amundson, 73, of Ellsworth, will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist church in Ellsworth with Rev. James Lusher officiating and with burial in Homewood cemetery at Ellsworth.

Mr. Amundson died Tuesday night at his home.

Roaul Amundson, son of William and Lilly Johnson Amundson; was born April 13, 1910, at Thor, Iowa.

He resided at Roland, Garden City, and Radcliffe, and then moved to Ellsworth in 1930.

He was married Sept. 12, 1926, to Naomi Blair at Algona. He had participated in road construction work, retiring in 1972, following which he served as custodian at the Ellsworth schools.

He was a member of the United Methodist church, and was former chairman of the church board of which he was presently a member. He was former mayor of Ellsworth and was town clerk for 14 years.

He is survived by his wife; two children, Richard Amundson of Des Moines and Mrs. Gene (Nola) Brinton of Willmar, Minn.; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell Amundson of Whitten; a half- brother, Wayne Amundson of Des Moines; and four half-sisters, Mrs. Roy Hostetler of Portland, Ore.; Mrs. Lorraine Cunningham of Marshalltown, Veda Allenbaugh of Grayland, Wash., and Avis Barrack of Springdale, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The casket will remain at the Becker Funeral home until noon Saturday when it will be taken to the church.
