Hubert Tyler, 60, of Dubuque, former Ellsworth resident, died suddenly Thursday at his home in Dubuque.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Trinity Lutheran church in Ellsworth with the Rev. Harvey Sigurdson officiating and with burial in Greenwood cemetery at Ellsworth. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 9 o'clock tonight and the casket will be taken to the church Saturday morning.

Hubert Tyler, son of Ernie and Synva Thompson Tyler, was born July 16, 1919, at Ellsworth. He attended Ellsworth high school and St. Olaf college at Northfield, Minn.

He was married to Roma Fryslie.

He is survived by five children, Mrs. David (Cindy) Hill of Ellsworth; Emmett Tyler of St. Ansgar, Iowa, and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Hanson of Norwalk, Mrs. Angie Pulliam of Fair Oaks, Calif., and Kevin Tyler, Sherburn, Minn.; four grandchildren; one brother, Arnold Tyler of Chicago; and one sister, Mrs. Marjorie Redling of Ames.

Mr. Tyler engaged in farming in the Ellsworth community for many years and also engaged in the elevator business until moving to Dubuque in 1971.

He was a member of Trinity Lutheran church.
