JEWELL - Mrs. Bert (Hattie) Reade, 82, longtime resident of the Jewell community, died at 2:15 p.m. yesterday at the Hamilton county hospital, where she had been a patient since Jan. 6.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Federated church in Jewell. The body will lie in state at the Becker funeral home until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church. The Rev. George Bever will officiate and burial will be made in Evergreen cemetery.

Hattie Thoreson, daughter of Anna and Gustav Thoreson, was born Dec. 3, 1878, near Randall.

She was married Jan. 29, 1900, at Jewell to Bert Reade and the couple resided in Jewell for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband Oct. 25, 1957.

Surviving are one son and one daughter, Mrs. H. D. Arrasmith of Ames and Curtis Reade of Bakersfield, Calif.; one brother, Carl Thoreson of Ames; one sister, Mrs. Thea Bolt of Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Reade was a member of the Federated church, the Rebekah lodge and of the Ladies Aid Society.
