Mrs. Thomas E. Thompson of near Ellsworth died early this morning at her home after several months' illness.

Funeral arrangements are pending with Becker's funeral home in charge.

[Mrs. Thomas Thompson passed away at her home near Ellsworth on Saturday morning, Aug. 16, at 4:45 a.m. at the age of 60 years, 6 months and 1 day. She had suffered a stroke on July 3.

She was born Feb. 15, 1892 at Webster City. Her maiden name was Lulu Emelie Sanford and she was the daughter of Josephine Olsen and Chilson Sanford. She spent her entire life near Ellsworth except for a few years in Webster City when she was a child.

Mrs. Thompson graduated Ellsworth high school and attended Iowa State Teachers college at Cedar Falls. She was a member of Bethesda Mission society and the Trinity Lutheran church.

On October 19, 1922, she was married to Thomas Thompson at Ellsworth. 4 children were born to this union: Dorothy Joan Thompson of Mason City, Robert Leland Thompson of Ellsworth, Mrs. Marvel Melling of Kamrar and Mrs. Carrol Reisetter of Ellsworth.

She is survived by her husband, four children, her mother, Mrs. Josephine Sanford, 88, of Fort Dodge; two sisters Mrs. Jess Lindebak of Luverne and Mrs. Arthur Hof of Humboldt; two brothers Frank Sanford of Badger and Archie Sanford of Ames. All were present for the funeral. Also five grandchildren survive.

Two songs were sung at the auditorium and one in the home by Mr. Vernon Peterson, Lavon Peterson, Mrs. Leonard Lindebak and Mrs. Raymond Skartvedt. Mrs. Lindebak also sang a solo at the auditorium, where the funeral took place.

Pallbearers were Raymond Thompson of Ellsworth, James Thompson, Jr. of Minneapolis, John H. Thompson of Pomeroy and from Luverne, Robert Sanford, Francis Sanford and Wayne Sanford.

Burial was at Homewood Cemetery.

**The funeral was held at the high school auditorium, while the new church was being built.]
