James N. Rhodes, 69, Des Plaines, Ill., a former Webster City resident, died Thursday, Feb. 14, at the Holy Family Hospital in Des Plaines, following a lengthy illness. Private funeral services were held for the immediate family in Des Plaines.

James Rhodes was born in Webster City, where he attended school. He served in the Army Air Force during World War II, and was later employed as an electrician in the Chicago area for many years until his retirement. He married Jeane Kauffman of Des Plaines.

Mr. Rhodes is survived by his wife, Jeane, Des Plaines; three daughters; two grandchildren; a brother, Francis M. Rhodes, Leavenworth, Wash.; and a sister, Harriett (Mrs. Ron) Isaacson, Webster City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard M. and Wynnie Rhodes and four brothers.
