Last Sunday we followed to its last resting place, the body of Andrew J. Hall, who departed this life July 25th, at the residence of Mr. Brooks, near Homer, in his 29th year. Mr. Hall and his cousin had been transacting business in Iowa, and were returning to their home in Knox Co., Missouri.
The deceased was a young man of promising talents, and had a fair prospect of becoming prominent and useful in his community. While on his return home he was cut off, in the flower of his age, in a land of strangers, but friends, who sympathize with his faithful companion and relatives at home. His sickness was borne without a murmur, and he met death with Christian resignation. Among his last words he said, “God knows best; soon, all will be well.” He was kindly treated and properly interred in the Hook’s Point cemetery (Hamilton Freeman, 5 Aug 1874, 3).
