Grace (Seaboch) Messerly, 93, of Fort Dodge passed away on Sunday December 14, 2014 in Nevada, IA. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday December 18, 2014 at Trinity United Methodist Church with Dr. Dan Rogers officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA. The visitation will be held from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Thursday prior to the service at Trinity United Methodist Church. Arrangements have been entrusted with Gunderson Funeral Home & Cremation Services.

Grace was born in Dakota City, IA on December 17, 1920 to William and Carolyn (Fossen) Buckingham. She grew up and attended school in Dakota City. She was united in marriage to Wilbur Seaboch in 1942 and they farmed in the Webster City area. Grace and Wilbur enjoyed traveling around the area going to dances. Wilbur passed away in 1977. Grace met Dale Messerly and they were united in marriage in 1987 in Webster City. They made their home in Fort Dodge. They enjoyed traveling and dancing. They were members of Trinity United Methodist Church where they regularly attended. Grace also enjoyed reading, playing cards and gardening flowers and vegetables. She loved spending time with her family.

Grace is survived by her sons Michael (Kay) Seaboch of Nevada, IA, Tony (Kristen) Seaboch of Houston, TX; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren; her step-son Douglas Messerly; her step-son-in-law Bob Duley; 8 step-grandchildren and 19 step-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband’s Wilbur Seaboch and Dale Messerly; her son Bruce Seaboch; her step-daughters Kathryn Duley and Kay (Dick) Shamblen and her 6 siblings.
