Dr. Hall Dies at 73; Rites Tuesday

Dr. Forest F. Hall, 73, widely known Webster City physician, died at 7:20 p.m. Saturday at the Hamilton county hospital where he had been a patient since Dec. 10. He had been in ill health the past four and one-half years.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. Paul Clement officiating and with burial in Graceland cemetery.

Frank Forest Hall, son of Dr. O. A. and Ida Hall, was born Aug. 30, 1886, at Lehigh, Iowa. He moved with his parents to Webster City when he was four years old, attending the Webster City schools and being graduated with the class of 1904.

Dr. Hall taught school for several terms in the rural schools of Hamilton county, then attended the University of Iowa for two years. He later attended the Jefferson Medical college in Philadelphia from which he was graduated in 1909. He took his internship at Delaware hospital, Wilmington, Del., and then took an eye, ear, nose and throat postgraduate course at Golden Square hospital in London, England.

Dr. Hall returned to Webster City to open his practice in this community, continuing his office here for 45 years.

He was united in marriage Aug. 16, 1911, to Lorene M. Quackenbush, and to this union one son and two daughters were born: John O. Hall of this city; and Mrs. Richard (Mary) Desmond of this city; and one daughter, Helen, who preceded him in death at the age of two years.

He was united in marriage June 27, 1935 to Vera Leksell. Dr. Hall retired four and one-half years ago and the family had since resided at Dunedin, Fla.

Dr. Hall is survived by his wife; the two children; four grandchildren, Joan, Thomas and William Hall, and Richard Boak Desmond; two brothers, Clyde Hall of Des Moines and Ralph Hall of Redondo Beach, Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Besides the one daughter, Dr. Hall was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Dr. Ray Hall.
