Mrs. T. H. Coats [Telfer H.] , who lived five miles northwest of Stanhope, died Saturday [Dec. 14,1918] morning at 4:20 of kidney trouble. Burial was made at Saratoga cemetery yesterday.
Mrs. Coats was a daughter [Francis P.]of Mr. and Mrs. A. [Albert] T. Smith, who also live in the Stanhope neighborhood. She was born on a farm near Kamrar Dec. 6, 1893, and was married Dec. 17, 1913. She is survived by her husband and four children; Albert, aged 4, Audrey Caroline, aged 2, Belva Maxine, aged 1, and a babe born two days before her death. There are also her parents and two sisters and two brothers, Mrs. Jessie Lyle, Miss Hallie Smith, T. Earl Smith, all of the Stanhope vicinity, and Millard P. Smith, who is in the army, stationed at Camp Holabird, near Baltimore. Mrs. Coats was a member of the Christian church at Saratoga.
The Coats family are well and widely known about Stanhope and in the passing of this young wife and mother the deepest sympathy of their many friends goes out to the sorrowing relatives.
