H. Oliver Hill, Jr., 81, of Williams,died Friday, January 12, 2007 at the Bartels, Lutheran Retirement Community in Waverly. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, January 15, 2007 at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Williams. Burial will be in the Rose Grove Cemetery, Williams, with Gravewide Military Rites by the American Legion Post #633 of Williams. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday at the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams. Foster Funeral & Cremation Center, Webster City has been entrusted with arrangements.

Henry Oliver Hill, Jr., son of Henry and Jenny Skilbred Hill was born on June 22, 1925 on the family’s farm near Williams. He attended Williams rural schools and graduated from Williams High School. During WWII, he proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. On September 4, 1949, he married Audrey Harman at the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell. The couple resided in Ames until he graduated from Iowa State University with a B.A. degree in Ag.Business. They then moved to Aldie, VA for one year. They returned to the Williams area to farm. Mrs. Hill died on October 2, 1980. He continued to reside on the farm. He retired from farming in 2000.

Mr. Hill is survived by his one son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Carol Hill of Roseville, Minn., daughters and sons-in-law, Claudia and Jim Juhl of Mt. Vernon, IA, Marcia and Denny Haugen of Waverly, IA. Gaynelle and Frank Schneider of Denver, CO; grandchildren, Shanon (Jayakar) Oguri, Angela Haugen, Aaron Haugen, Tara (Stan) Sorensen, Audrey Schneider, Rachel Schneider, Amber Schneider, Anthony Hill, Matthew Hill, Luke Hill; great grandsons Blake, Cayden, and Cameron Sorensen; brothers and sister-in-law, Russell and Karen Hill of Des Moines; Phillip and Connie Hill of Weston, MO and Robert Hill of Warsaw, MO.

In addition to his wife, Audrey, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Hill; sister, Ruth Hill and his parents.

Mr. Hill was a member of the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Williams; associate member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church in Jewell; member of the American Legion Post #633 of Williams; Sons of Norway; The Iowa State Alumni Association; Farm Bureau and The Gideons International.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The Gideons International, P. O. Box 140800, Nashville, TN 37214-0800.
