Ben H. Klaver, 60, a longtime resident of the Blairsburg community, died Thursday at the University hospitals in Iowa City where he had been a patient for the past two days. He had been in ill health for several months.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. John Nolin officiating and with burial in the Blairsburg cemetery.

Benhard H. Klaver, son of Harm and Dena Lente Klaver, was born March 17, 1911 at Kamrar, where he was reared and educated. He was united in marriage May 9, 1933 to Kathryn McDonald, and the couple made their home in Kamrar. For the past 20 years, however, they had farmed in the Blairsburg area.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter and one son, Mrs. Jerry (Gwen) Farnham, Webster City, and Gary Klaver, Wheat Ridge, Colo.; four grandchildren; five brothers and one sister, Eilt Klaver and George Klaver, both of Kamrar, Fred Klaver and Dan Klaver, both of Iowa Falls, Mrs. Minnie Bates of Ames and Wilbur Klaver of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Harm.

He was baptized in the Presbyterian church.
