Russell L. Stamp, age 84, of Webster City, formerly of Holstein, passed away on Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at the Van Diest Medical Center of Webster City. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 2:00 PM at the St. Paul Lutheran Church of Webster City with the Rev. Mark P. Eichler and the Rev. Lyle D. Hansen officiating. Burial will be at a later date. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Russell Louis Stamp was born Feb. 4, 1930 to Louis and Lurene (Kaus) Stamp. He graduated from Holstein High School in 1948. He served in the Navy during the Korean War from 1950 to 1954. He worked on the family farm in Holstein until 1979 when they moved to town. In addition to farming, Russ started working for Midwest Breeders in 1968. In the early 1980's he attended carpentry classes in Ida Grove.

Russ married Videll Koehler in Salem, OR on November 7, 1953. They were blessed with three children.

Russ was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Holstein. He later attended St. Paul Lutheran Church of Webster City, IA.

Russ enjoyed gardening, woodworking, taking part in flea markets and attending toy shows. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Russ was a member of the American Legion in Holstein, IA and of the Disabled American Veterans of Ft. Dodge, IA.

Russ was united in marriage to Marion (Peekenschneider) Rollison on October 13, 2001.

He was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Lurene Stamp; Videll, his wife of 38 years; and grandson, Andrew Rowley.

Survivors include Marion Stamp, his wife of thirteen years; his children, Sandra Carter (Darrell), Mary Rowley (Robert), and Kurt Stamp (Sue); his three step-children; five grandchildren; six step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren, and nine step-great-grandchildren.
