Mrs. Anderson Died Today

Mrs. Sock Anderson, 86, longtime resident of Hamilton county, died this morning at the Hamilton county hospital where she had been a patient the past three weeks.

She had been in failing health the past six months.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rose Grove Lutheran church near Williams, with the Rev. Benjamin Ostrem officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Center cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Foster funeral home until 9:30 am. Tuesday when it will be taken to the Anderson farm home where brief services will be held prior to the church services.

Bertha Nerbo, daughter of Torgrin and Sessel Nerbo, was born Aug. 14, 1876, near Stavanger, Norway. She was nine years old when she came with her parents to the U.S., locating at Madison, Wis. The following year, the family moved to Iowa, locating on a farm seven miles southwest of Jewell. She was educated in the Jewell community.

She was united in marriage Dec. 22, 1903 to Sock Anderson, and with the exception of two years when they resided on a farm near Swea City, they had always lived on a farm in Liberty township.

She is survived by her husband; one daughter, Mrs. Obed (Ruth) Hall of Williams; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by one son, Selmer, in 1919, and one son, Thomas, in 1953; by her parents and one brother, Martin Nerbo.

Mrs. Anderson was a charter member of the Rose Grove Lutheran church.
