Gaylord C. Hauge May 25, 1918-Nov. 26, 2012
1Gaylord C. Hauge, 94, died on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2012. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Soderstrum Funeral Home in Story City. Funeral service will be at 1:30 pm Thursday, Nov. 29, at Elim Lutheran Church, in Randall. Burial after service will be in Story City Cemetery.

Gaylord was born on May 25, 1918, to Carl and Anna (Hendrickson) Hauge in Ellsworth. He married Lyla I. Quam on Aug. 17, 1941. They were married 68 years until Lyla’s death on Aug. 5, 2009. He was a farmer all his life. He started farming plowing the fields with his mules. He farmed west of Randall from 1945 to 2000.

He is survived by three sons, James Hauge, of Ankeny, Mark (Kathleen Deal), of Stanhope, and Keith (Janet), of Jewell; and one sister, Ethel Brill of Kamrar.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; and one sister, Lois Eckley.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made out to Bickford Cottage, or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Soderstrum Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
