Velma C. Carpenter, 90, of Iowa Falls, passed away Sunday at the Hubbard Care Center. Services will be 10 a.m. on Thursday at the Linn's Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday at the Linn's Funeral Home.

Velma C. Carpenter, 90, of Iowa Falls, passed away Sunday, October 31, 2010, at the Hubbard Care Center. Funeral services for Velma C. Carpenter will be 10:00 am Thursday, November 4, 2010 at the Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls, Iowa. Burial will follow at the Berlin Cemetery, Jackson Township, Owasa, Iowa. A time of visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, November 3rd at the Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel.

Velma Clare Dougan was born February, 19, 1920, at Iowa Falls, Iowa, the daughter of Florence Adel [Hife] and Edward Earl Dougan. She attended the Owasa Community Schools graduating with the class of 1938. On October 17, 1943 she was united in marriage to Glen Leroy Carpenter at El Paso, Texas. She was a cook at the Eldora Country Club and the Hardin County Home for many years.

Velma Carpenter is survived by her sons: Albert (Mary) Carpenter of Ackley, Iowa, James Carpenter of Iowa Falls, Iowa, and Wayne [Darla] Carpenter of Robinsonville, Mississippi. and several grand and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; Edward and Florence Dougan; her husband: Glen Carpenter; a brother: Horace Dougan and a sister: Bonnie Dougan.
