Arnold Lloyd Lande, 89, of Webster City, died at Bethany Manor in Story City, on Friday, October 22, 2010.
Arnold was born January 30, 1921 in rural Huxley, Iowa to Amos B. and Nellie (Johnson) Lande. Arnold graduated from Huxley High School in 1938, and was attending Iowa State College when he enlisted in the United States Navy, and served from 1942 1945.
He married Norma Dodds on September 27, 1946 in Stockton, Illinois. They owned and operated Lande Refrigeration Service in Webster City. He later resumed studies and received a degree in Industrial Education from Iowa State University in 1969. He taught refrigeration in Springfield Missouri and later adult education classes at Iowa State. Arnold was a member of the American Legion Post 191 and Moose Lodge #735 in Webster City, and a member of the Jane Young House Foundation.
He is survived by his wife, Norma Lande, of Webster City; one son, Dr. Allen (Katherine) Lande; one daughter, Dr Ilene Lande (John Mc Nutt); grandchildren, Elisa Lande-Brown, (Dan), of Minnesota, Emily(Laurence) Alison of England, Nathan (Ursula) Lande of Georgia, Allen (Kirsten) Mc Nutt of Iowa City, Michael Mc Nutt of Cedar Rapids and Ellison Mc Nutt of Iowa City; four great grandchildren; sisters Florence White and Deloris (Jim) Day.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Arline Scott, Beulah Erickson and Irene Price; three brothers, Ole Lande, Stanley Lande and Palmer Lande.
Memorials may be addressed to the Jane Young House Maintenance Fund, or the Kendall Young Library.
