Sonja E. Ford, 50, of Webster City, died Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames. A Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Fosters Chapel with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Visitation will be held on Friday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Foster Funeral and Cremation Center.

Sonja Elaine McConnell daughter of Kenneth and Edna Adams McConnell was born on January 6, 1960 in Webster City, Iowa. She received her education from the Webster City Community Schools graduating in 1978. On March 30, 1990, she married Roger A. Ford at the First Baptist Church in Webster City. Sonja had worked for over 22 years at Electrolux Home Products, where she was a member of the U.A.W. local #442 and had served as both a union steward and chief steward.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Ford of Webster City; mother, Edna Bakken also of Webster City; sisters, Mary (Robert) Hisler of Woolstock; Andrea (Mike) Hilpipre of Webster City; Clarette (Duane) Sprecher of Blairsburg; brothers, Harold (Carol) McConnell of Warner Robbins, GA; Ed (Janine) Bakken, and Greg McConnell both of Webster City; 15 nieces and nephews; 16 great nieces and nephews; 2 great great nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Nancy Hernandez of Houston, TX; brothers-in-law, Chris (Dena) Ford of Umatilla, OR; and Don (Jenny) Ford of Yakama, WA.

Sonja was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth H. McConnell; brother, Kenneth S. McConnell; and her grandparents.
