Larry Donahe, 75, Webster City

Larry D. Donahe, 75, of Webster City, died Friday, October 1, 2010 in a motor vehicle accident. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center with Rev. Michael Carmody officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post #191 of Webster City. A visitation will be held on Wednesday evening from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Fosters and one hour prior to the service on Thursday.

Larry Dean Donahe son of Harold and Irene Echelberger Donahe was born on April 19, 1935 in Fort Dodge, Iowa. He received his education from the Fort Dodge Community Schools. Larry enlisted in the United States Navy during the Korean War, where he served on the U.S.S. WASP in the Asiatic theatre of action. Following his honorable discharge in February of 1956, Larry resided in Fort Dodge where he worked at Fort Dodge Container for several years. On September 6, 1958 he married Patricia Mae Tracy at the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. Larry began his career as a truck driver with Decker Truck Line Inc. The couple moved to Webster City in 1978. He later worked as a truck driver for Hellers Carbonics in Webster City. He had worked as a truck driver for several other companies until his retirement. During his retirement, he enjoyed watching all of his grandchildren's activities.

Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Patricia Donahe of Webster City; daughters, Angie (Gary) Anderson of Webster City; Pam (Doug) Rushton of Fort Dodge; Molly (John) Ferrell of Webster City; son, Luke (Georgie) Donahe of West Des Moines; grandchildren, Zachary and Sierra Anderson; Katie and Kyle Rushton; Kayla and Brett Donahe; John, Bryan and Nathan Ferrell; brother, Jim Donahe of Fort Dodge; sisters, Colleen (Dave) Boyd of Colorado; Marlys (Jim) Cruchelow of Des Moines; sister-in-law, Norma Donahe of Farnamville; and several nieces and nephews.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Darwin (Son) Donahe; and sister-in-law, Gwen Donahe.
