Bob Hemminger, age 84, of Hale, Mo., died Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at Pershing Memorial Hospital in Brookfield.
Bob James, son of Herman and Nina (Weir) Hemminger, was born January 9, 1926 in Hamilton County, Iowa. On April 29, 1945, he married Donna Gene Eppard. She preceded him in death on October 6, 1990. On December 2, 1992, he married Mina Brown Russell.
Mr. Hemminger was a farmer and worked for Donaldson Company in Chillicothe. He was a US Army Airforce Veteran of World War II; serving in the Pacific as a tail gunner on a B-25. He was a member of the VFW in Marceline; the IOOF Lodge and the Rebekah Lodge in Chillicothe; and the Elks Lodge in Brookfield. He was past president of the National American Agricultural Movement. He was a Presbyterian. Before moving to Hale, Bob had lived in Blairsburg, Iowa, Rockwell City, Iowa, Laclede and Brookfield.
Survivors include his wife, Mina of Hale; two sons, John Hemminger of Brookfield and Neil Hemminger of Castle Rock, Colorado; and one step-daughter, Wanda Kelly and husband, Walter of Fullerton, California.
His parents; one granddaughter, Amanda Gene Hemminger; and one sister, Bonnie Koontz also preceded him in death.
