Shirley Jean Keane, age 73, of Williams died on Monday, Sept. 6, 2010 at the Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Williams with burial at a later date. Family will receive friends on Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. The Surls Funeral Chapel in Williams is in charge of arrangements.

Shirley Jean Keane was born on April 30, 1937 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Homer and Martha (Krause) Wampler. Shirley graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1956. On May 11, 1957, Shirley was united in marriage to Gesley Keane at the St. Mark Catholic Church in Iowa Falls. Shirley was a homemaker and from 1997-2007 she served as the assistant librarian. Shirley was also active in Democratic Party politics.

Shirley is survived by two sons Tim (Sharon) Keane from Manhattan, Kansas and Rob (Kathy) Keane of Monument, Colorado; a daughter Lisa (Michael) Entriken of Spring, Texas; granddaughter Alison (David) Karnowski; and a great-grandson Knox Karnowski. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents.
