Denny Baker, 54, of Webster City, died Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at the Hamilton Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Foster Chapel, with Rev. Sue Nienaber officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and Friday prior to the service.
Dennis Lee Baker, son of John and Charlotte Scott Baker, was born June 25, 1956 at Webster City. He received his education in the Webster City school system. From 1974 to 1977, he served in the U.S. Army-Armor company at Fort Ord, California. On August 10, 1985, he married Diana Jacobson at the Little Brown Church at Nashua. The couple resided in Webster City. He had been employed with the City of Webster City in the street department for 10 years, car sales at Lambi Motors, worked at Electrolux and track maintenance at the Hamilton County Speedway.
Denny is survived by his wife, Diana ( DJ ); sons and daughter-in-law, Travis and Stacy Wearda of Duncombe; Tyler Baker of Webster City; grandchildren, Alexis and Chase; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and Kathy Baker of Webster City; Jim and Maxine Baker of Boone; sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Dale Luhmann of Duncombe; Karen and Norm Anderson of Webster City; Sue and Jim Nienaber of Coon Rapids, MN; several nieces and nephews and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Bob Richey.
He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church.
