On October 25, 1918, Derwyn Anson Deo was welcomed into the loving arms of his parents, Ray Wilson and Violet Luella (Fry) Deo. On June 23, 2010, at the age of 91 years, he was welcomed into the loving arms of his heavenly Father. Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 28, 2010, at 10:30 AM at the Greenfield United Methodist Church. Interment will be at the Greenfield Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 27, 2010 at Steen's Funeral Home, Greenfield, IA, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM with family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM.

Those thankful for having shared in Derwyn's life include his surviving children: Jana (Tom) Reints of Webster City, IA; Julie (Robert) Herrick of Waukee, IA; Loretta Deo-Connors of Kearney, MO; and daughter-in-law Rosalie Deo of Shawnee, KS. Derwyn is survived by 9 grandchildren including Shauna (Mark) Elliott and Lisa (Keith) Schwandt and 12 great-grandchildren including Adalie and Kaden Schwandt.

Derwyn was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church. He was a strong and courageous man no matter the hurdles placed before him. He was proud of his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and took great joy in spending time with them. Derwyn's legacy to his family will be his strong work ethic and the importance of the family circle. His understanding, compassion, and steadfast love will live on forever in their hearts.
