Archie Williams, 90, Thousand Oaks, Calif., a former Woolstock and Stanhope area resident, died Friday [November 17, 1989] at Thousand Oaks.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home, Webster City, with the Rev. Bruce Bane officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City. Visitation is after 4 p.m. today and until the time of service.

Survivors include daughters, Leona Gordon, Newberry Springs, Calif., and Doris Welling, Thousand Oaks, Calif.; sons, Donald, Webster City, and Cpt. Robert Williams, Bellevue, Neb.; 17 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Rachel Harrison and Gladys Graham, both of Webster City, Elsa Coyle, Brea, Calif., Anna Orr, Eagle Grove, and Luella Jotten, Fort Dodge; brothers, Robert and Lee, both of Woolstock, Ralph, Chillicothe, Mo., and Albert, Kansas City, Mo.

Archie Williams was born [February 5, 1899] on a farm south of Webster City and moved with his family to Wisconsin when he was four. He later returned to the Webster City area and married Thelma Larson in 1926 at Webster City. The couple resided at Woolstock until 1936, when they moved to Stanhope. He was employed as a farmer, a mechanic and a truck driver; and prior to his retirement, he was employed by the Hamilton County Maintenance Department. Following the death of his wife in 1985, he continued to live in Stanhope, until moving to California in 1987.
