Rocky Woods, 54, of Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Monday, February 22, 2010, at his home. Memorial services for Rocky Woods will be 11:00 am Friday, February 26, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church, 619 Main Street, Iowa Falls, Iowa, with a time of visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Thursday, February 25th at the Linn's Funeral Home, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls and following the services Friday at the church. The Linn's Funeral Home Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements. (641) 648-2569.

Rocky was born August 11, 1955 in Iowa Falls, Iowa, the son of Lawrence (Woody) and Ilo (Ike) Woods. His childhood was spent in Iowa and Montana and provided him with many fond memories, developing his love for nature. He celebrated his graduation from Iowa Falls High School in 1973 with a memorable road trip with friends, taking in the beauty of Colorado and the California Redwood Forest. In 1979 he married Camille Gray and soon after their daughter, Megan Marie was born. A son, Joshua Cole followed in 1981.

Rocky was passionate about “the small things” and never failed to appreciate the beauty of nature. He often “wore his heart on his sleeve” and was well-known in his community for his kind and selfless nature. He loved American history, music, long walks with his dog and most of all, his children. A day never passed without Rocky telling his children how much he loved them; they will miss him terribly. He was also an avid collector of model cars and has left an impressive collection in his memory.

Rocky was preceded in death by his mother (Ilo) and his very special friend, Beth Bolton.
He is survived by his 2 children, Megan Marie (Dan) Kelly of Lewisville, Texas and Joshua Cole Woods of Chandler, Arizona; granddaughter Mary Katherine Kelly of Lewisville, Texas; his father, Lawrence Woods of Iowa Falls; sisters Darcie Mead of Ankeny and Penny Woods of Des Moines and brother Rick [Judy] Woods of Iowa Falls; ex-wife Camille Woods of Chandler, AZ.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
