Funeral services for Jesse Jotten, 83, were held on Thursday, Jan. 6 at 10 a.m. at the Foster Funeral Home in Webster City with Don Basye officiating. Following cremation interment will be made at a later date at Graceland Cemetery.

Mr. Jotten died Monday [Jan. 3, 1983] at Ellen's Convalescent Health Center at Fort Dodge where he had resided the past four years.

Jesse Melvin Jotten, son of Johan and Minnie Thompson Jotten, was born Dec. 20, 1899 in Wright County. He was reared and educated in the Wright County schools.

He married Luella Williams on Jan. 22, 1948 at Eagle Grove. The couple resided in Eagle Grove where he was employed by the Wilson Packing Co. until 1956 at which time the family moved to Webster City. He was employed by Morton Frozen Foods until he retired in 1965.

He is survived by his wife, also a resident at Ellen's Convalescent Health Center; one daughter, Mrs. Paul (Charlene) Olson of Webster City; four grandchildren; one brother, Harlan Jotten of Clarion; two sisters, Mrs. Alie Armour of Eagle Grove; and Mrs. Ernest (Mable) Storesund of Des Moines.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Violet Jensen in 1971.

He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.
