Gertrude Kannegieter, 95, for Iowa Falls, Iowa, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2010, at the Heritage Care Center, Iowa Falls. Funeral services for Gert Kannegieter has been changed to 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 10th at Linn's Funeral Chapel, 1521 Washington Avenue, Iowa Falls. Visitation will be one hour before services Tuesday at the Funeral Chapel. Burial will be at the Union Cemetery, Iowa Falls. Memorials may be directed to North Iowa Hospice, of North Iowa, One 2nd Avenue NW, Hampton, Iowa 50441 The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Gertrude Wientjes was born December 31, 1914, at Austinville, Iowa the daughter of Martin and Jessie [Linkwis] Wientjes. She attended the Austinville Community Schools. On March 12, 1936, Gertrude was united in marriage to Philip Kannegieter at Ackley, Iowa. They farmed together retiring in 1968. She then worked for Maid Rite and several area businesses cleaning 17 different offices.

Gertrude is survived by nephew: Melvin [Mary] Feldhoff of Hampton, Iowa; niece: Gertrude Kohl of Hampton, Iowa; great nephews: Jeffry Linn of Alden, Minnesota, David [Rhonda] Linn of Alden, Minnesota; great nieces: Karen [Lee] Jacobs of Alden, Minnesota, Vickie [Gordy] Nabor of Hampton, Iowa; great nephew: Bryce Feldhoff of Hampton, Iowa; and several great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents: Jessie and Martin Wientjes; her husband: Philip Kannegieter; an infant sister: a sister: Gertrude and Mary Feldhoff; a niece Doris Linn: and a great nephew: Terry Feldhoff.
