Jeanette Lamoreux, 85, of Eldora, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2010, at her home. Memorial services for Jeanette Lamoreux will be 10:30 am Wednesday, February 10, 2010, at the First United Methodist Church, 1415 12th Street, Eldora, Iowa, with Reverend Richard Boatman officiating. Private burial will be held at a later date. The Linn's Funeral Homes Iowa Falls Chapel has been entrusted with the arrangements..

Jeanette Aileen Jones was born July 21, 1924, at Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Irwin Joseph and Ethel [Roberts] Jones. She graduated from Dubuque High School and the University of Dubuque. On February 4, 1949, Jeanette was united in marriage to Marcus Benton Lamoreux at Elk Point, South Dakota. To this union five children were born: Marcus, David, Melinda, Mary, and Patricia. Jeanette was a vocal music teacher; starting her teaching in Blairstown and continuing in Starmont, State Center, LeGrand-Dunbar-Furgeson, and then retiring from Radcliffe Community Schools in 1975. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Eldora, Iowa, where she served as the church organist for many years. She was a member of the United Methodist Women, the Iowa State Education Association, the National Education Association, and was also the vocal director for the Caecilians Singing Group of Eldora.

Jeanette A. Lamoreux is survived by her husband of 60 years: Marcus B. Lamoreux of Eldora, Iowa; two sons: Marcus L. [Colleen] Lamoreux of Story City, Iowa, David P. [Karen] Lamoreux of Marysville, Washington; two daughters: Melinda Lamoreux of Amherst, New York, Mary [Jerry] Hartzler of Kalona, Iowa; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a sister: Beth [Gordon] Miller of West Des Moines, Iowa; and a brother: Irwin [Joanne] Jones, Jr. of Joliet, Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Ethel and Irwin Jones, Sr.; a daughter: Patricia Lamoreux; a grandson: Joshua Weyant; a sister: Josephine Lonergan; and a brother: Kenneth Jones.
