Donald Lynn Siders, the son of Marion F. and Retha M. (Patrick) Siders, was born April 27, 1953, in Webster City, Iowa. He was raised and educated in the area of his birth, graduating from Webster City High School in 1971 and then received his A.S. degree from I.C.C.C.

Don's father Marion died in 1962 and his mother, Retha later married Gerald Nervig.

On November 16, 1974, Don married Debra Hoversten at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Webster City. The couple made their home in Webster City, where they raised three children.

Don worked nearly 30 years for Arrow Acme in Webster City. In November of 2001, he went to work for Ball Plastic Packaging in Ames. Don served on the Webster City City Council from 1994 to 2002.

Donald truly loved his children and grandchildren and enjoyed watching sports he was a devoted Iowa Hawkeye fan.

Donald passed away Wednesday, January 27, 2010, at his home in Eagle Grove, at the age of 56 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Gerald Nervig and infant son, Shannon Siders.

Survivors include his step daughter, Tammy Massmann and husband Greg of Webster City; son, Shawn Siders of Minnetonka, MN; daughter, Jayme Siders of Fort Dodge; 9 grandchildren; brother, Jerry Siders and wife Bonnie of Omaha, NE and sister, Joanne McCollough and husband, Michael of Hanford, CA.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 30, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Foust Funeral Home in Eagle Grove with Pastor Chris Lang of Evangelical Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City.

Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
