Kenneth Lloyd Gnade, 83, of Webster City, IA, formerly of Waterloo, IA died Wednesday evening, January 13, 2010 at his home in Blairsburg, Iowa.

He was born April 13, 1926 in Grand Meadow, Minnesota, the son of Carl and Mabel Shaw Gnade. He married Grace B. Becker on December 21, 1945 in Waterloo, Iowa. He resided in Blackhawk county Iowa since 1941 and they moved to Webster City, IA in 1986.

Mr. Gnade worked at Rath Packing for 29 years and then John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works until his retirement in 1978. He worked for Midas Transportation in Webster City after his retirement.

Ken is survived by a son, Daniel (Judy) Gnade of Manteca, CA; a daughter, Barbara (Larry) Furman of Blairsburg; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mick (Bruce) Perrin of Waterloo, IA; Doris (Henry) Gerdis of Elk Run Heights, IA; and Ruth Weltzin of Waterloo, IA.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Roland Gnada; two sisters, Helen Hatlestad and Gladys Kitterman; and a granddaughter, Brenda Odem.

Funeral Services will be on Saturday at 1 pm at the Kearns Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball Avenue, Waterloo, with burial at the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be for two hours before services at the funeral home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
