Edna Baker, age 82, of Ellsworth, died Friday, December 11, 2009 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral service is 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Ellsworth. Burial will be at the Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Kamrar. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at Becker Funeral Home in Jewell.

Edna Smith was born September 25, 1927 in Kamrar to Lucas and Bina (Klaver) Smith. She grew up in Kamrar, graduating from Kamrar High School. On May 31, 1947 Edna married James Richard Baker in Fort Dodge. In 1950 they moved to their farm north of Ellsworth. They owned and operated Baker Truck Line where Edna helped with the business. Edna was a member of the Deb Hart Club, the United Methodist Church in Ellsworth, where she taught Sunday school and bible school, and was a member of the United Methodist Women.

Edna is survived by her sons, Jack (Sharon) Baker of Ames and Donnie Baker of Ellsworth; daughters, Jeanie (Tim) Mickelson of Duncombe and Sandra (Mark) Lunde; seven grandchildren, Chris Baker, Jason Baker, Shelby Baker, Brittany Hill, Brooklyn Hill, Kristina Lunde, and Austin Lunde; and four great grandchildren, Chloe Baker, Sam Baker, Quinn Baker, and Meredith Baker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James in 1990; her son, Clark in 2006; and 14 siblings.
