Wayne L. Smid, 72, of Webster City, died Friday, November 27, 2009 at the Hamilton Hospital at Webster City. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Asbury United Methodist Church, with Rev. Linda Bibb officiating. Private
family burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday.

Wayne Leroy Smid, son of Edward and Louise Klaver Smid, was born June 7, 1937 at Webster City. He graduated from Kamrar High school in 1955. On January 7, 1959, he married Billie Jean Dunn at Webster City. After years of farming in Hamilton and Hardin counties, he worked with his son at Jeff Smid Auto, managed motels and enjoyed his position as a motor coach/tour bus driver.

Wayne is survived by his wife, Billie; his children, Jeff and Karen Smid of Davenport; Faye and Jon Bowles of Chandler, AZ; Paul and Peggy Smid of Naperville, IL; Perry Smid of Seattle, WA; Rachael and Mike Yndestad of Huntley, IL; daughter-in-law, Christi Smid of Normal, IL; grandchildren, Clair, Laine and Paige Smid; Alyssa and Jonny Bowles; Jack, Megan and Danny Smid; Annika and Luther Yndestad; sister and brother-in-law, Sharon and Dennis Short of Gainesville, FL; mother-in-law, Lola Dunn; numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Dirk Smid and brother, Merlyn Smid.
