Eva R. Lavender, 91, of Webster City, died Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 23, 2009 at the Foster Funeral & Cremation Center with Jon Whitmer officiating. Burial will follow in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Fosters.

Eva Rosalie Smith daughter of Jasper and Myrtle Jones Smith was born on January 4, 1918 in Blue Earth, Minnesota. She received her education and graduated from Kamrar High School in 1935. She was united in marriage to Lester Zugg. To this union a daughter Jo Jenett Zugg was born. Mr. Zugg died in the early 1940's. Eva worked for the Department of Agriculture for several years. On March 27, 1948 she married Webster Lavender in Rockford, Illinois. In January of 1950, the couple moved to Webster City. In 1961, the couple opened Lavender Tractor Service. Mr. Lavender died January 18, 1987. Eva worked for many years for the Stu and Bee Lund family. She had been residing at Crestview Senior Living since March of 2006.

Survivors include her daughter, Jan (David) Ensley of Webster City; grandson, Matthew (Tina) Parrish of Vashon Island, Washington; granddaughter, Julie (Chad) Friesth of Fort Dodge; 3 great granddaughters; 3 great grandsons; and 2 nieces and 1 nephew.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Lester Zugg and Webster Lavender; daughter, Jo Olthoff; brothers, James, Eldon, and Kenneth Smith; sisters, Billie Swenson and Madalene Smith.

Eva was a member of the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah's Witnesses in Webster City.
