Gertrude "Gert" C. Ellis, Rockwell City, was called from this life on Tuesday, June 2, 2009, to join her husband, Lee D. Ellis, the love of her life, at the Maple Manor Village, in Aplington.

Funeral services were held Friday, June 5, at St. Francis Catholic Church in Rockwell City, with the Rev. Richard Ries officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial was in St. Francis Catholic Cemetery. Palmer and Swank Funeral Home in charge.

She is survived by sons; Phillip Anderson and his wife, Beverly, of Arlington, Texas; Steve Anderson and his wife, Sue, of Webster City; and D. Jay Ellis and his wife, Lisa, of Parkersburg; eight grandhildren; eight great grandchildren; sister Lavonne O'Leary of Fort Dodge, her friends Linda Anderson of Webster City; and Lyle and Dotta Uhlenhopp and her extended family of Aplington.
