Jerre (McNelly) Salzer, 67, Dunnellon, FL died Tuesday, July 10 in a hospice home in Ocala FL. Her memorial service will be held Monday, July 16th at 1pm at First Congregational Church of Westfield, Massachusetts at 18 Broad Street.

Jerre Helen (McNelly) Salzer, daughter of Chester and Helen (Conradi) McNelly, was born April 11, 1940 in Anoka Minnesota. The family later moved to Webster City where Jerre attended school and graduated from Webster City High School in 1958. She met her husband James Salzer while living in Minneapolis, MN. They later moved to Lake Odessa, MI and then to Westfield, MA. They made Westfield their home for over 25 years before moving to Dunnellon, FL. She was employed by Northwestern Bell Phone Company and Renaissance Manor Nursing Home as activities director for many years.

Jerre is survived by her husband James of 37 years; brothers Chet McNelly, Duncombe, and Donald McNelly, Webster City; sisters Elizabeth Weieneth, Des Moines, Mary Burtnett and Sarah McNelly both of Webster City. She was a caring mother to James Jr. and mother-in-law to Carrie (Magovern) Salzer of Westfield, MA. Jerre also leaves two treasured grandchildren Emily Kate and James Stephen III.

Jerre was a devoted Christian, appreciated nature and cherished animals. Donations can be made in her name to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation or the Humane Society of the United States.
