Thelma Wearda, 93, of Webster City, died Wednesday, September 19, 2007 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul’s

Lutheran Church with Rev. Travis Schmidt officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the Foster Funeral and Cremation Center from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Thelma Leona Douglas, daughter of Frank and Josephine Douglas, was born Sept 13, 1914 at Algona, Iowa. She received her education at Algona and moved, with her parents, to Webster City in 1932. She graduated from Lincoln High at Webster City in 1935. On August 28, 1941, she married Edward Benjamin Wearda at Webster City. The couple farmed south of Webster City then retired to Webster City in 1984. Mrs. Wearda was a homemaker. Mr. Wearda died September 25, 1988. She moved to Crestview Apartments in 2003.

Thelma is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Bob Mitchell of Mason City; son, Kenneth E.Wearda of Webster City; grandchildren, Sheri and Travis Morud of Fort Dodge; Stacie Mitchell of Cedar Rapids; Chris and Kathy Lockwood of Webster City; Kelly and Mitch Yates of Webster City; Travis and Stacy Wearda of Webster City; Ryan and Emily Wearda of Jacksonville, FL; Julie and Mike Draper of Mason City; 15 great-grandchildren; June Lamoureux of Akron, IA; several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Myrna Jeffers and niece, Sue Lamoureux.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Dorcas Eunice Circle, Ladies Aid, Senior Citizens Bible Study, Sit or Sew Club, Every Other Week Club and Quilt Day.
