Debra Lee Sperry, 32, Rockwell City, formerly of Webster City, died Oct. 8, 2003 at Trinity Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be Monday at 10 a.m. in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home, and at 10:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church with Rev. Edward Girres officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in the Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be after 4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. and a Vigil at 7 p.m.
She is survived by her husband, Jim; and her mother Deanna Mallinger, Fort Dodge. Debra was preceded in death by her father Eugene Mallinger in 1990; and her grandparents, Sam and Sylvia Tonkinson and Anthony and Christina Mallinger.
Debra Lee Mallinger was born Nov. 15, 1970 at Pocahontas. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School in 1989 and then graduated from Iowa Central Community College with an LPN degree in 1991. On July 16, 1994, she was united in marriage to Jim Sperry at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Webster City. The couple made their home in Webster City and later moved to Waukee and returned to Rockwell City in 1998. She worked as an LPN in nursing homes and had to resign due to ill health in 1998.
Debra was a member of St. Francis Church in Rockwell City and the GGG Club of Rockwell City.
Memorials may be left to the discretion of the family.
