Harry Rude died Monday night 11:50 p.m. at the Boone County Hospital, he was there just several hours before he passed away. He had been at the Ledges Nursing Home in Boone where he lived for 2 years.

Funeral services will be Friday, October 12, 1:30 p.m. at the Beckers Funeral Home with Rev. Otto Zwanziger presiding. Burial will be in Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth.

Harry was born June 18, 1900 in Ellsworth. His mother was Sadie Blair and his father Harry Rude. He married March 29, 1925 to Elvira Braland. He graduated from the Ellsworth schools. During his lifetime he farmed in the Ellsworth area, worked in the ammunition plant in Ankeny and International Harvester in Jewell, worked for the Highway Commission in Hamilton County. He retired in 1965.

He is survived by his wife, 5 sons, Leslie M., Long Beach, Miss., Virgil H.,Long Beach, California, Donald R., Iowa Falls, Leo W., Ellsworth, Quentin H., Anaheim, California, 10 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Howard Rude of Ames and Walter Rude of Denver, Colorado, one sister, Hazel Kennicott of Waterloo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, George.
