LaVern "Bud" Ziebell, age 81, of Buckeye died Friday, December 5th at the Presbyterian Village in Ackley. Funeral services were scheduled at 1030 a.m. Wednesday at the Immanuel Memorial United Church of Christ in Alden, with burial to follow in the Homewood Cemetery, Ellsworth.

LaVern "Bud" Ziebell was born on September 2, 1927 at home in Radcliffe, Iowa, the son of Paul and Mabel {Charlson) Ziebell. He attended school at Ellsworth, Iowa. On November 2, 1951 Bud was united in marriage to Helen Rath in Ames, Iowa. He served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII. and was a Feed Mill Manager at the Buckeye Elevator for 37 years. Bud was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church at Ellsworth and a former member of the Buckeye Fire Dept.

Bud is survived by his wife, Helen of Buckeye; a son, Steve Ziebell of Iowa City; three daughters, Cathy Moore and her husband, Dennis of Webster City, Lori Groom and her husband, Chuck of Rowan, and Jana Anderson of Des Moines; six grandchildren; and six greatgrandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Rosella Prince, Mercile Johnson, and Wilma Hansen.
