Lauren P. Hendrickson, 81, of Naples, Fla., passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2008, at Georgeson Hospice House in Naples, Fla. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at St. Paul's Cemetery, rural Jewell at 3:30 p.m..

Lauren was born June 6, 1927 in Story City, Iowa to Casper "Cap" and Stella (Quam) Hendrickson. He served our country with the US Navy in the Pacific during World War II. He farmed near Kamrar, Iowa prior to moving to Naples, Florida 20 years ago. He was a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Naples.

Survivors include a daughter, Paula Teig of Dubuque; one brother, David (Anita) Hendrickson of St. Joseph, MO; three grandchildren, Scott (Kristi) Oberender of Jewell, Jared Oberender of Kamrar, and Christopher Oberender of Dubuque; two great-grandchildren, Deven Bevington and Dakota Oberender; and his longtime companion, Lizette Chaffin of Naples, Fla.

Lauren was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Avow Hospice of Naples, Fla. Soderstrum Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements.
