Donald Gorman, 65, of Webster City died Thursday Oct. 16, 2008 at Hamilton Hospital in Webster City. A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 10 am at the Boman Funeral Home, Webster City. Rev. Dr. Michael Kroona officiating. Bomanfh.com.

Don was born July 27, 1943 in Iowa City to Merle and Mildred (Mulnix) Gorman. He graduated from Webster City High School in 1961. He was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Duncombe.

Don lived in Webster City and was employed at Frigidaire from 1979 to 1998 when he retired. Don was a member of Local 442 UAW. He served as a department steward 1980-83, chief steward 1983-87, chair person bargaining unit 1987-93 and liaison to woman's committee retiree chapter. He could be seen tending bar at the C & C American Tap or volunteering bar duties at the Moose Lodge. He loved his cats and dog Duke. He enjoyed dancing and listening to old 50's and 60's rock and roll, and country music.

Survivors include the highlight of his life (his better half) wife Jonette Gunderson for the last 29 years; mother Mildred Elm; children Tim Gorman, Don Jr. Gorman, Danny Gorman, Jon Gorman, Scott (Heidi) Gorman, Tammy Gorman, Mike (Kyla) Gunderson and Michelle (Jim) Hines; brother Jerry Gorman; step-brother Jerry Elm; 27 grandchildren; & three great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father, step father John Elm, infant brother Jimmy, step-son Marty Amosson, and grandparents Ira and Neta Mulnix and Oscar and Mamie Elm.
