Lillie Kastler, 93, Webster City, died Monday, June 16, 2003 at Crestview Senior Living. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Foster Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Laird officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be at the funeral home one hour before the service.
Lillie Violet Kastler, daughter of Louis and Esther Girardelly, was born January 9, 1910 at Moscow, Id. She received her education in Webster City Schools. On Sept. 4, 1934, she married Verne Henry Kastler at Santa Ana, Calf. The couple resided at Long Beach, Calif. While in Long Beach, she owned and operated a corner grocery store. They moved to Webster City in 1950. She was a homemaker. Mr. Kastler died Jan. 14, 1991. She had resided at Crestview since December of 1994.
Mrs. Kastler is survived by one nephew; Richard Rasmussen, Webster City; five nieces, Donna Paschal of Rochester, Minn., Shirley Morasse of Seal Beach, Calif.; Frances Mitchell of Webster City, Bette Barnard of Seminole, Fla., Mary DesJardins of Webster City; sister-in-law, Iva Rasmussen of Seminole, Fla.; and a number of great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Charles, George and William Rasmussen; sister, Edna Ratcliff; nephew Raymond Ratcliff, and nieces Norma McLean and Marlene Brown.
